It was back in June / July when I talked to Nichola and Freddie about their wedding. We were all waiting on the edge of our seats at the time for information on the possible easing of Covid restrictions when it came to weddings. As soon as we realised the coast was clear and the wedding was to go ahead, it was a bit of a last minute scramble but this wedding came together in the most beautiful way!

It was my first wedding at Gisburn Park Estate and I was so excited! As much as I love going to my favourite wedding venues time and again it is always exciting discovering a new one !

The day was hot and sunny, and although everybody thinks a sunny day is ideal for weddings, which they are, it’s not ideal for photography. If you happen to have beautiful sunny weather on your wedding, you might also find your wedding photographer hunting for the shade, which is what we did that day at Gisburn Park Estate.

I met Nichola where she was getting ready at a stunning house on the estate to capture some bridal prep photos before we all headed to the ceremony at a church nearby. Nichola wore a stunning fit and flare wedding gown with lace detail from Knutsford Wedding Gallery and a pair of incredible blue wedding shoes with bow detail.

Their ceremony was held at the beautiful Mary The Virgin, Gisburn. Afterwards they had a joyous walk down the confetti aisle and we made our way back to Gisburn Park Estate for a Teepee wedding reception. The Vicar was one to remember! He was such a nice man and very helpful from a photographer’s perspective, he even brought Nichola’s bouquet to the register signing table for the photo!

They wanted a simple and classic tone to the couples shoot so we spent the time capturing some relaxed photos and we came back out for a few more later in the day. They spent the bulk of their time enjoying the company of their wedding guests.

The teepee reception carried through the lovely blue colours and it looked amazing. There was a string quartet that played music and guests danced the sunny afternoon away in the shade. It was a truly stunning day. They booked me from the preparations to the speeches that day so good chuck of the day was lovingly and happily photographed. I even had a stunning tomato, mozzarella and basil bruschetta in the cool shade, what could be better ?

If you are planning your wedding here as well please get in touch with me to chat about your Gisburn Park Estate wedding photography. It is a venue I would love to return to!
